2 Seasons on Padar Island
This beautiful island can be enjoyed in two seasons. During the rainy season (January–April), the hills appear green and refreshing.
June and July mark a transitional period, during which the savanna grass covering the ridges slowly turns yellow. When summer arrives (August–November), the hills appear brown, contrasting with the blue sea on either side. December returns to the rainy season, marking the transition from green to green again.

Climb to the top of Padar Island Hill
The hike from the beach pier to the top of the hill is the main activity. Therefore, it's highly recommended to bring drinking water, sunscreen, a hat, and shoes. It takes about thirty minutes to an hour to reach the summit via hundreds of man-made steps.
Try heading to the top of the hill at sunrise or sunset for a better view! The green hills, blue sea, and orange sky will be a feast for the eyes. This is the most breathtaking view of Komodo National Park!

Padar Island features a semi-wooden, concrete pier that is very safe for guests. It also has restrooms, a ranger, a trekking ticket counter, and five climbing posts to the summit. On Padar Island, you can enjoy young coconuts sold by the locals of Komodo Village.
